30,000 Followers and Counting

Kudos to Kay!

 

I think probably one of our most exciting success stories over the past 12 months, or certainly, the last 15 months (and I’ve factored in that time because that covers a lot of COVID times) is far and away working with Kay from Viney holiday properties @viney_holiday_properties

 

As you can see in the video above, today they’ve got over 33,000 followers on Instagram and their posts are regularly getting, over 1000 comments and engagement, which is actually massive.

 

Viney Properties is a fantastic example of an account that literally went from pretty much zero, when we started working with them they had about 2500 followers and now they have over 30,000 more than that – way beyond anybody’s expectations in terms of what they could achieve. 

 

What’s so exciting is that, during this time, we were hit by a global pandemic and a global lockdown, and hospitality was almost completely wiped out in the UK.

The fact that Kay and the team have been able to achieve remarkable results in terms of marketing and growing the brand and growing the audience and growing the businesses is absolutely remarkable.

 

And the beauty of this that when we first met, they had about two and a half thousand followers. You see the update in the video above from my direct messages when they got to 4000 followers, Kay was immediately blown away by that, then getting their first ever booking through Instagram. 

And this again is purely from following steps of interacting with people, engaging with people, posting consistently, showing up on a regular basis, engaging with your audience and engaging with the type of people that you want to attract.

Instagram is a social platform – we can’t just throw content out there and hope it sticks. We can’t hit and hope and expect people to come to us.  Absolutely content is a central part of it, however, we also need to make sure that we’re interacting as well.

 

We’ve got to have that two-way conversation in order for people to come back, to engage and interact with us.

 

For Kay to get our first booking from an Instagram blogger through the platform was a massive result, and now her following is over 33,000.

 

What’s most exciting is that they became literally fully booked for a period of about 18 months, and a consistent number of those bookings and inquiries were coming from social media.

 

I think that’s one of most powerful things that you could possibly do.

 

One of the great things that Kay did, and this is her doing the work – we’ve given her pointers and recommendations – but one of the great things she did, being a holiday property company, was pulling in people that she could work with.

Leveraging other people’s audiences

By that I mean, one of the greatest ways to grow and impact your growth is by leveraging other people’s audiences and contacts, and connections, and growing together.

 

There’s a lot of ways we talked about growing together.

 

Kay did that by pulling in local businesses, local companies, people within our local area, and seeing how they could work together to support each other. Now that goes way beyond just the local area because she then started to connect with people from a wider audience. She’s got amazing connections with some influencer networks as well, all from the steps that she started taking to grow the account.

 

So, if you’re thinking this won’t work for my business, you can see right here an example of a business absolutely obliterated through COVID.

 

If you think it doesn’t work for service-based businesses – absolutely it does. And, if you think it doesn’t work for my audience my niche isn’t here. Well, the majority of people who make these bookings, Kay told me, are the older generations who are looking to take their family away. So it’s not people that 20s or 30s that go on social media – they’re not making the decisions for the family, it’s the older generations who are making the decision for the family and they are doing the booking.

 

So absolutely the audience is on there, it’s just finding the right way that we connect with them.  From the very simple strategies Kay’s done, this is is far and away one of most impressive, one the most impactful results we’ve ever seen – massive massive kudos to Kay.
